Okay, so typically I prefer painting babies that are sleeping (they don't wiggle so much;) But then I saw the Ahn kit and I just had to have her. She is so sweet!!! My sister is smitten with her, constantly wanting to cuddle her. She is so relaxed and her round cheeks are adorably soft. Her little body folds into my arms and if I’m not careful her head rolls back. Dark painted hair crowns her sweet little head and her long rooted lashes frame her rich brown eyes. Her eyes tend to cross in that joyous baby expression. I'm including more pictures than I normally do because she is so photogenic and fun to pose.
Now, as a silicone doll, she does have imperfections. This is my third silicone doll and though I am glad to say I did much better at keeping the dust out of her paint, I wasn’t completely successful. Other things to mention are: A small indent on her right heel. The slightly chalky areas on her neck, back and feet ect. (as alluded to in the pictures.) On one of the painting layers, I had the paint to thick and it left a few small ridges in areas: mainly on the crown of her head and the inside of her right arm and some on her fingers. (Just when I think I'm getting the hang of silicone, I find l still have a lot to learn.) Also, her delicate little lashes have collected bits of silicone and finishing powder (as shown in the pictures. ) And her dimple is a shade of purple. Like I said, I’m still learning, but I tried to photograph her little blemishes best I could. However, her imperfections work out to your advantage, because I am selling her cheaper than I would if I had painted her perfectly (maybe one day I'll paint a baby where everything goes exactly right:)
In summary, if you are looking for a flawless baby, well you had better go get a factory doll. A baby that is handcrafted and painted is unique to herself and should be loved for it. If she has captured your heart, you need adopt her, because there will never be another exactly like her:)
