Up for your consideration is my version of the awake Stevie Realborn kit by Bountiful Baby. I am very pleased with the way this precious kit has been transformed by me into such a realistic looking baby doll.
The doll was painted using only Genesis Heat Set Paints. I gave her many translucent layers of paint to achieve this result. Her body is a non-jointed cloth body recommended for this kit by Bountiful Baby. Her limbs are full length which allows for a larger selection of clothing. Her limbs and head can be gently turned for posing.
I have weighted her with fine glass beads and quality fiber fill. She is a small doll and feels very cuddly when held. Her head will need to be supported as though she were a real human baby.
I have given her realistic looking skin tones with many additional details such as mottling, blushing, attention to wrinkles and folds and delicate broken capillaries. She was given subtle blue undertones in areas where the skin would be thinner. The parts were sealed with a matte varnish for extra realism and protection.
I opted to give my doll beautiful and realistic looking painted hair. It has taken me many hours to achieve this result. I paint layer upon layer with brushes that have the fewest bristles. The painted hair has a very realistic pattern to it. I love painted hair on a doll that represents a very newborn doll with sparse hair and lots of scalp showing through. The eyebrows are painted with the same technique. I also added some light-colored baby looking peach fuzz to the sides on her cheeks and above her eyebrows. The extra painted details really added to her realism.
While I do not consider this a booboo baby the doll has a flaw on her left hand. The upper part of the hand has some shine on it. I have included a picture of this for reference. I also have adjusted the price I am asking accordingly.
This is an open eyed baby and I gave her very baby blue acrylic eyes. The eyelashes are rooted with fine quality mohair and safely secured. I do recommend using care when putting clothing over her head.
Her nostrils were shaded for realism. I gave the doll very pink blushed fingers and toes. I gave the fingernails a baby manicure look.
I opted to give this little one a magnetized pacifier. Please use caution around anyone with a pacemaker or any electrical equipment that might be sensitive to a strong magnet.
The doll was created from a first quality kit and the COA will be included in the layette. Also, all of the clothing she is seen wearing in the pictures. I will include a care sheet with my suggestions for keeping the doll in pristine condition. My doll is not meant to be a play toy for a young child and should be treated as a fine collectible. With proper care my doll will stay beautiful for many years to come.
