Up for "adoption" is my version of the Alexis kit sculpted by Cassie Brace. It is a beautiful big baby doll. It has been a pleasure bringing this baby doll to this lifelike appearance.
The price of this kit is over $100.00. I am asking a very fair price for her. I have used only genesis heat set paint on Alexis. She has been given a slightly mottled complexion. I have given the multiple layers of skin tones, shaded creases and wrinkles, given her blue undertones in areas where the babies skin would be thinner. I gave her tiny broken capillaries on here eyelids and cheeks. She is a very good sized doll and weighs 7 pounds. She has full limbs attached to an unjointed cloth body. Her head and limbs can be carefully turned for posing. She is weighted with fine glass beads and fiber fill.
I have given Alexis a full head of rooted hair. It is still wispy enough that her little scalp shows through. I've used only quality mohair from Slumberland Nursery. It is very fine and will definitely demand some attention to keep in place. While it is not mono -rooted I think it is a beautiful head of rooted hair. It is very securely glued from within and can be carefully combed and styled. It does not tangle and it beautiful black mohair. Please note that I rooted her lashes with kid mohair and they are not overly wispy. Please make sure you are okay with the look of the lashes before purchasing. I painted some baby fuzz on the sides of the doll's cheeks with light colored paint. I've left the doll's hair slightly long.
Alexis is wearing mostly newborn clothing but might be able to wear 0 to 3 months. Her torso is slim. She is not overly floppy. I would still recommend supporting her head. Again, she is good sized heavy doll. Please be aware that my doll is not meant to be a play toy for a small child. It should be handled carefully. My baby doll can stay beautiful for years to come with proper care. Please use care if you have pets that like to chew as the limbs contain fine glass beads.
The doll's eyebrows have been delicately painted and she was given a baby look manicure on her toe and fingernail tips. Please be aware I do NOT ACCEPT RETURNS on my doll's if you have questions at all about how the doll was painted, assembled or photographed please contact me and I will answer your questions. Also, I have created a small video of how the doll moves and you can request me to send it to you on your cell phone.
I did not give the doll any magnets. Her layette will come with the clothing she is seen wearing, a receiving blanket that she will be wrapped in, an extra pamper, her Certificate of Authenticity, and a care sheet with my personal recommendations for keeping her pristine. I did paint an anatomically correct tummy plate for her to match her complexion. I don't take photographs with the doll in clothing and the tummy plate. I would use it only for posing pictures and gently laying over the doll. You may want to trim the plate to fit the doll. I will leave that option to you. No other items will be included. Please note the little red dress she is wearing is vintage as is the small hat. I love finding adorable clean vintage clothing for my dolls.
