Amelia was sculpted and cast by Elena Westbrook and was painted and rooted by me, Carol Manoukian with Caroline’s Touch Art Dolls. She is a one piece, full body silicone baby poured in a soft blend of Ecoflex 10 by Elena Westbrook. She is a micro preemie who weighs 2.8 lbs, and is 14” from head to toe with legs straight but when she is in a normal position laying on her back, she is realistically 13." She has an open mouth with sculpted tongue and can take a preemie sized pacifier which I special ordered for her and will be included in her box opening.
I painted her using Susan Gibbs newborn paint pallet with Silk Pig pigments and Psycho paint. I matted her with Psycho paint and Silicone Velvet Matting Powder. I rooted her with Sarah Silk, Silk Effex Fine Adult Grade Mohair in Strawberry Blonde. It is very soft and luxurious mohair. She is not perfect but as with each creation I make I get better and better. She is a hand crafted work of art from my hands to your heart. Anomalies and imperfections are normal and are not considered boo-boos.
This baby took me many, many hours to complete any I love how she turned out. She will come home with 3 out of the 4 outfits shown in her photos - not the blue polka dot romper and bonnet because it is actually too small for her. No props or blankets used in her photos will be included in her box opening but I knitted a small, special blanket that will go home with her.
It's amazing what the effects of different lighting can have on our baby dolls. So, I made sure to take photos in different rooms of my house with different lighting as well as taking photos outside. I would say the first photo in my listing is the truest to her color.
She will come home with a small but sweet box opening, wrapped in a gift type fashion for you or someone special, including her COA, Birth Certificate, silicone care instructions, a sample size of silicone powder (either Sam’s, Just Matte or Silicone Velvet,) along with a soft powder bush. Her 3 handmade outfits were made by the following wonderful artists: Purple knitted outfit with booties and bonnet, made by Iloulia Salsbury‘s mother. Her Spring dress, sandals and headband were made by “Under the Willow Tree” and her little rabbit blouse and orange checkered bottoms were made by Sarah Wood. Also included in her box opening will be a few other little items from me to make it extra special.
***Care must be taken with her soft silicone. Never allow a child under 18 hold her without supervision. Never pull or tug her limbs and remember to always support her head. She must be cared for as if she was a real baby.
