Elsie, sculpted by Marissa May, is an older vinyl kit that I purchased in 2018 and reborned 2/16/2022.
The kit’s 3/4 legs are put on a full leg body so this doll measures a little over 17” instead of the kit advertised as 18”. I think her proportions look much better as 3/4 arms and full legs.
Her 3/4 arms are attached loose enough to rotate at both the arm and shoulder joints. This allows for maximum posing possibilities.
She weighs 4.83 lbs. I’m including extra zip ties if you want to reweigh her or ever need to reattach a limb.
She was painted with Genesis Heat Set Paint and matte varnish. She has a slight textured feel to her vinyl. Her nails are lightly tipped and glossed. Lips are glossed. I added veining and shading to her ankles, feet, wrists, hands, and head. Light mottling. Blushing.
Her eyelashes are applied for ease of any repair. Her eyes are handmade of German Lauscha glass. They are blue.
Her hair is combi. It’s painted for durability and stress free handling. I rooted some HP Babylocks mohair, honey blonde, on the top for added realism. Her hair is sealed from within.
She has a magnet for a pacifier.
This kit is not sold with a COA (Certificate of Authenticity). I will include a photo birth certificate of authenticity.
