Ronin, by the talented Laura Tuzio Ross, is a good-sized baby at 23 inches long and weighs 7 pounds 4 ounces. He is very realistic in looks and feel. I had a really good time painting this boy. As he came to life I could tell he was special. He has fine veining and capillaries throughout his body. His mottling is light to reflect the older baby that he is. Some details are so small they are hardly seen by the human eye but give an overall effect of realism. He has the cutest little finger and toe nails.
Ronin has full vinyl limbs and a soft doe suede body. He is filled with fine glass and stainless beads surrounded by soft polyfil. He wears 0 – 3 month clothing and a size 2 diaper.
His hair is painted in multiple shades of brown for a realistic 3-D look. His eye lashes are rooted over his beautiful, big, blue eyes. He takes a modified magnetic pacifier.
What is extra special about Ronin is I purchased him directly from Laura Tuzio Ross at the Dolls of the World Expo and she signed his body right in front of me.
As in all my reborns, quality is important. Ronin’s hair, eye lashes and pacifier magnet have been double glued. In addition, his pacifier has a moleskin cover to insure it stays put. His limbs and head are plugged for strength. His flanges have a hard smooth covering which allows his connectors to be nice and tight yet makes his limbs move easily. . His paint is sealed with Americana Soft Touch Varnish, this gives a nice matt finish that is smooth to the touch.
I don’t know how he is not breathing!
