For sale is a realborn Ashley asleep that I painted in a classroom setting under the guidance of an experienced artist. She is my FIRST delve into the world of reborning, and I think she turned out really well for an initial attempt! Since she is my first, I am selling her as a boo-boo baby (note flaws below).
She has lovely rooted eyelashes (if I do say so myself!). I am including some extra hair tufts for touch-ups in case there is ever any loss. I wish more artists would do this as a standard practice.
Ashley wears preemie / tiny baby size clothes. She is on a BB Kinby cloth body and is weighted to be a bit on the floppy side. She does NOT have a magnet for a pacifier.
Her known flaws:
- Her skin has a very rough texture, almost like sandpaper, due to the varnish application used. I have read that some people actually prefer this feeling in their reborns.
- I missed varnishing a couple of spots on the top of her head and arms, so they are smooth spots. I cannot see these spots with my naked eye, I can only feel them.
- The varnish pooled in a few creases in her hands, but to me this ends up looking like dry skin. I wanted to note it, though. Please review all photos carefully and in zoom mode.
The last photo shows what Ashley will come home with, so there won't be any surprises. She will be dressed in a white bunny sleeper, wrapped in the pink and white striped blanket, have an extra coordinating bunny sleeper, a newborn diaper, a boy and girl ID tag, and her COA.
