Teddy Rose was made from a Teddy head from Secrist and mixed limbs (Maggie legs, Harlow arms, and an Elisa Marx torso). She is an African American baby with dark wavy hair finely rooted by hand. Her dark eyebrows were also rooted for realism and depth.
This baby weighs 7 pounds 8 ounces and is 19-20 inches long with bent legs. If she were a real baby she would be more like 21 to 22 inches. She wears Newborn sized clothing and diapers. She comes with a special bottle that has been adapted to fit inside the mouth tubing. Her pacifier is magnetic and is made with a new technique that accommodates the mouth tubing. No more spiky pointed pacifiers. Clothing, diapers, a pacifier clip, and a blanket will also come home with her as well as a few surprises in a lovely box opening..
She has been adapted with an inner tubing system so that she can drink water or faux formula made from sunscreen and distilled water. This process is unique to Rainbow Reborns and this baby is made so that no inner workings of the doll will never get wet or damp. Everything is securely sealed and water tight.
I have been making and selling this drink-and-wet style doll for over six years. My methods are unique and invented by me. I can’t say if anyone else in the world may or may not be doing this, but I know what has worked for me, and I stand by my work. Be cautious with purchasing from sellers who may think this is a simple process. It takes a full week to assemble my babies.
While feeding, you need to be careful with dripping (as all babies tend to do) by using a burp cloth or bib so that the mouth and neck are do not become wet. The sunscreen type of formula has been thoroughly tested for absence f clogging. Other formulas may work as well, but I cannot guarantee their safety as I have not tested them. If a clog is suspected, the inner workings will clear out by feeding a small bottle of vinegar and water (1 tsp to 4 ounces water).
As with all reborn dolls, you must take care in handling/dressing them. Follow instructions on care included in the box. Do not pull the arms and legs. Her limbs are attached using grooves and rings rather than a cloth inner body. Her head will turn moderately from side to side, but do not twist too far due to the inner plastic tubing which has a limited amount of leeway for operation. If you pull apart the tubing you will ruin the drink-and-wet mechanism.
