Painted with Genesis heat set paints and xodus varnish in newborn skin tones using at least 50 mottling /texture layers to create skin tone. He has rooted lashes, textured brows, leguno very light (used my new grandson as a guide! ),milk bump textured with thick medium for realism plus so many more details! He has directionally rooted micro rooted most only one hair but not all with blond shades of alpaca. Can be gently styled in a wavy or straight style it is rooted deeply and well sealed but of course these dolls are artwork and care must be used to prevent damage. I use only new glass beads for reborning and angel silk polyfill mixed with baby fat pellets for realistic feeling while holding. He is on the heavy side and weight can be adjusted but he has a very realistic feeling as currently weighted. We as artists have our unique preferences and styles and I love a head heavy floppy newborn! I got to use my new grandson as a model which was super cool! Magnetic pacifier and a beautiful box opening that can be themed if requested! It's honestly an extremely difficult balance between being in a free flowing creative place and following very exact rules to be able to even paint on vinyl. Nevermind the fact that unlike a flat canvas that hangs untouched ,to prevent damage, on a wall to be admired our canvas is vinyl doll parts ( incredibly challenging lately as vinyl is so variable with each kit it's a new challenge !) that are supposed to withstand being handled ,dressed, held, posed, hair styled, all within a list of rules and cautions. In order to meld the level of artistic painting required to make plastic look and feel like real human skin and be sturdy enough to touch lots of materials including courses and hours of self learning and practice, this is a crazy cool artform that is undervalued all too often by artists as well. If we want new talent to choose from we must help lift each other up and remember your paying the sculptor and reborn artist as well.
