"All living beings are born in many shapes and colors, all of them are an unrepeatable work of art. Each of them is perfect in its own way, that it’s to say, perfectly imperfect. I believe the beauty lies in the uniqueness and small differences that make each of us be who we are. And some of these beauties can be seen with the naked eye… I want to represent some of these in my dolls. She represents the babies who are born with a large congenital mole (large congenital melanocytic nevus) on their faces (or bodies). These babies didn’t ask to be born with these marks nor did their parents, but life is full of surprises and 1 out of 20,000 babies born with them. Harlow didn’t ask to have one nor I did plan to paint her one, but as I said, life happens: I was painting his hair with a new technique and didn’t go well, so, instead of removing all the paint of her head and start all over again, I decided to embrace the dark spot and create beauty out of it"
She was reborned by me from the Realborn® Harlow Asleep sculpt by Bountifulbaby. She has a certificate of authenticity from Bountifulbaby, and another certificate from my nursery.
I painted on her veins, capillaries, milia on the nose, some little pimples on her forehead and her distinct beauty mark on her right temple. She is painted with Genesis Heat Set paints and sealed with BC Heat Set Paints semi-matte Varnish, with soft touches of wet effect from the same brand. Her mole is texturized in 3d effect with BC Heat Set Paints: Thinning medium. She also has glossy lips and nostrils.
Her hair is rooted with a very soft and thin premium alpaca hair: the color is a dark brown. It’s more plentiful on the top of her head and above the mole, but less plentiful on the rest of the head. Her lashes are rooted with the same hair. She has a modified body; has full vinyl legs but her hands are 1/4 vinyl, cut and sewn by me. Her cloth body and arms are filled with glass beads and polyfill softly distributed to create a very realistic weight and movement of the doll. His head and legs are filled with fine quartz sand and soft polyfill. Her head falls back very nicely when you lift her up.
IMPORTANT NOTE* Her left hand is a little twisted and squished due to an issue with the temperature of baking, I fixed it the best I could, but you can still see a little deformation on it (see the pictures). Also, in the little finger of the same hand, she has a darker spot due to a bubble of air in the vinyl I had to repair. If you want to see more pictures of these (or anything else), don’t hesitate to ask me!
She will go home with the outfits you can see in the last picture. That picture also shows the white blanket, magnetic pacifier and diapers she will bring too. I saw her as a girl, but if you want a boy, just tell me, and I’ll find some boy outfits for him! Everything will be nicely packaged to give you a very beautiful box opening. She wears a size “0-3 month” in clothing.
This doll HAS a magnet inside his head to take a pacifier. If you want me to remove it, please let me know and I will do it once the purchase is completed.
