• HAIR • Immy is a high-end doll kit, so it was my decision to give her an incredible, time consuming, head of rooted hair. She was rooted with quality mohair. Her hair was directionally rooted with a single barb needle, picking up as few hairs as possible. It is tangle free. Her hair can be moistened and gently styled. The majority of the pictures here, are shown with her hair naturally combed. I left it slightly longer. The black mohair is perfect for her skin tones, and I left it slightly wispy, so her precious scalp is visible. It has been very securely glued from within. Her lashes were rooted from the same mohair and glued from within. I also painted some small baby hairs in the temple area of the doll.(I always recommend using care when pulling garments over the doll’s head. Her head of carefully rooted hair took countless hours to complete.) I used a white gel pen for mapping and some very faint mapping lines may be seen. They are certainly not overly prominent. I really love the way the rooting itself looks.
• PAINT (skin tones) • Immy was painted with original formula genesis heat set paint. She was given a newborn mottled skin tone achieved with multiple layers of paint. Her details include blushed areas, subtle veining with blue undertones in places where the skin would be thinner. She has an adorable baby manicure with carefully detailed finger and toenails. She was given small capillaries on her cheeks and on her eyelids. Her skin was finished with a special dewy look permanent varnish. She looks amazingly real. This gorgeous kit was sheer joy to work with. Cassie Brace is an amazing sculptress, and I was thrilled to reborn one of her precious kits. • WEIGHTING • Immy has full limbs which allow for a larger variety of clothing. She has a cloth body which is weighted (In double secured material) with fine glass beads. Her limbs and head have been weighted with fine glass beads and secured from leakage. She weighs in at a very realistic weight of 7 pounds and is 20 inches long. She will curl up and melt into your arms. Because of the cloth body some of the newborn size clothing a bit of her cloth body around her neck may show. She can be posed so beautifully. Her limbs and head can be gently turned for posing. • Layette • Immy’s layette will include the clothing she is wearing in the pictures. Please be aware that with the peach colored two piece knit outfit, the top can be tight going over Immy’s head. Please use care when using it. She will be wrapped in a baby blanket and safely packaged to go to her new mommy or daddy. I will include all of her papers of authenticity, a care sheet with my suggestions for keeping your collectible baby in pristine condition. No other props or item will be included (although I normally do include an extra item of my choosing). • Extra Information • The doll DOES NOT have any magnets. Also, this reborn baby doll has not been created to be a play toy. It should be considered as a valuable collectible that, with care, can even be handed down as an heirloom. Also, I always advise if you do have chewing pets, use extra care around a pet, as the doll contains very fine glass beads.
