This kit is bountiful baby’s Realborn Martin kit. It has full limbs and is about 19 inches long. I have painted this reborn over time, by hand with multiple layers of paint to achieve as realistic a look as possible on this ethnic doll. I’ve used GHSP paints as well as BC heat set paints. I’ve varnished with a Genesis matte varnish and finished with a soft touch, top coat. The main points I’ve tried to capture are the looks of veins, mottling, capillaries, milia, dry skin, skin rash/etc, and nail details/gloss details. I’ve painted Martin to be of ethnic skin tone, with drawn and painted hair. His eyelashes are rooted with mohair and sealed from the inside. There is also a magnet inside for a pacifier, which is included.
The cloth body is filled with polyfill and weighed with glass beads. The full length limbs are also weighed and filled with glass brands. I’ve also weighted the head for a more realistic effect and assembled for a floppy feel. You will have to support this dolls head as you would a regular baby.
