Here we have my newest Pretty Baby Doll… baby Ashley from the adorable Ashley kit.
I purchased this kit from Bountiful Baby. She comes with a Certificate of Design Authenticity and a Pretty Baby Dolls birth Certificate.
Baby is 17 inches long - with fully vinyl arms and legs. She has a soft doe suede body and has been weighted perfectly as to feel like a real baby. She is a preemie size baby and is sporting clothes that are preemie to newborn size.
I have micro-rooted baby’s eyelashes in a medium strawberry blonde. Ashley has micro rooted hair in a medium strawberry / red. I used delta dawn angora mohair to root Ashley’s hair. It has been sealed from the inside so it can be gently styled. Ashley is a realborn… (a replica of a real baby). Ashley has a very realistic soft spot on the top of her head.. just like a real baby. I ran out of hair when I was rooting and feel her hair should have been brought forward more and also in the back of her head.. it should have been brought down more. However, I sealed her hair and she is being sold as is…, i did not thin her hair or cut it… she has more hair than us typical for a preemie. I also painted some hair around her hairline to try to balance out her big forehead. lol.
Also, I felt her face was a little rutty… and in the process of trying to correct this… her little face is more on the red side… while her limbs are more of a peachy skin tone. I originally set this kit aside as I was not able to match her little head with her limbs…. but like a couple other dolls on here that were not my best work.. I decided to assemble her and sel her as is. I have bought her a new outfit.. and dressed in her outfit.. you can barely notice that her face is not perfectly matching her limbs.
I have priced her at what it cost to make her.. I would love to see this baby sell and go to someone who just wants a very sweet and realistic baby doll.
To create this beautiful baby - please note the following:
Realisticly “barely there” eyebrow.
Rooted strawberry blonde/ medium red angora mohair. Rooted medium red eyelashes.
Multiple layers of genesis heat set paint to created a realistic and dimensional skin tone. Genesis paints are non toxic and never chip or fade.
Weighted with small glass beads and padded with angel soft polly fill.
Tipped and sealed fingernails and toenails.
Gloss medium on lips and a bit on the nose and around eyes for added realism.
She weighs about 4 pounds and is 17 inches long.
Ashley also has a magnetic pacifier, her own baby blanket and her clothes featured in the photographs.

As with any work of art, this baby is a depiction of my personal artistic impression of a soft, sweet and realistic baby girl.
