Dustin is a drink and wet full vinyl baby. This baby is one of Bountiful Baby's Realborn(c) sculpts which is created from 3D scans of real babies. He could not possibly be any more realistic. I made him into a baby that drinks and wets....even more realistic. Let me explain the process.
Dustin is able to drink and wet through the use of a vinyl continuous tube that goes from his mouth to the end of his anatomically correct torso. It is securely attached through methods that require days to properly assemble. He is filled with glass beads and fiber fill just as a normal reborn doll, but he cannot be disassembled due to the secure attaching and gluing of his parts. Rest assured that there can be NO LEAKING of any liquids with this method. The cloth inner body or filling material CANNOT get wet. It is recommended that the baby not lay in a wet diaper for too long, but of course, no good reborn mommy would do that. It is also recommended that a bib or burp cloth be used to protect the face and chin area while feeding.
Dustin has gorgeous blond hair and is mottled and veined realistically. He has tipped nails. His creases and features are painted to be very lifelike with top quality artist grade air dry acrylic paints, and he is sealed with matte varnish in several coats to reduce shine and protect the finish. After eight years of making these dolls, I have never had a problem with pealing, fading, or chipping paint.
Dustin comes home with three outfits, extra diapers, a bib, a bottle with a special nipple, a pacifier and clip adapted for use with the tubing in his mouth. He will also have a receiving blanket, a cap, and some booties.
Please realize that all reborn dolls are collectables, not toys for children. They must be handled gently and with care.
