Look who's awake in the nursery! Please welcome Birdie. This is the sold out limited edition "Zipporah" kit by the talented and unique sculptor Andrea Arcello. Birdie was hand painted using Genesis heat set paints. This paint is permanent. She has subtle mottling and veining throughout her limbs, blue and purple undertones where babies have thinner skin. I use my own combination of varnish to matte, seal and protect her painting and give her a slight texture. I have given Birdiea lovely new baby skin tone. I paint only in natural daylight, apply many thin layers for a realistic 3D effect and never rush my work. I mix my own colors making Birdie truly one of kind! Birdie has painted eyebrows and dark lashes. Her sweet nose has been shaded to create depth and I have added the moisture affect to her eyelids, ears, nostril. Her lips have been lightly glossed. I have given Birdie German glass eyes in a sparkling blue/grey color. I then glazed them over for that realistic wet look. Birdie has an anotomically correct torso with a high quality flesh colored cloth body underneath. The torso is not meant to be removed and the doll is weighted differently than my regular soft body dolls. Her head, arms and legs move withy ease, The cloth body features a darted chest with a gathered tush, non jointed full arms and legs and is filled with soft stuffing. Birdie fits well into newborn sized clothing depending on the brand and the fit you like. Her limbs and head are filled with a combination of 2 different size glass beads and soft fiberfil. I have weighted her to feel like a real baby in your arms. She is scented to keep her smelling baby fresh and has a magnet for a magnetic hair piece. Her sweet fingers and toes have been tipped and sealed. I have chosen high quality mohair in a dark brown color. Her hair is directionally rooted and soft with a slight curl/wave to it. It is sealed from the inside so that it may be gently styled. Rooted hair really adds to the realism of your reborn!
PLEASE READ! ******This kit does have some flaws. Nothing remarkable but worth mentioning. Eye sockets had small piece of vinyl missing on inside rim. I used some putty to back the eyes and help hold the resin when glazing them over. One glass eye has a very smalll rub spot, the glaze helps hide it but at certain angles and up close you may see it. I do not find these flaws noticeable. I do not offer returns so please make sure baby is for you. Feel free to message me with any questions.******

Baby is handmade, fragile and considered art, not a toy. Baby is meant to be displayed and observed. I do not recommend my babies for children under the age of 14. I have been creating reborn babies for years and have been a prototype artist for top sculptors such as Toby Morgan, Tru Born Inc and Cassie Brace. Each baby made in my studio takes many hours of dedication to complete. Baby's name is a suggestion and may be changed by you at adoption.
I strive for a pleasant transaction. I take very detailed box packing photos to ensure baby was packed with care. Baby is represented in the photos to the best of my ability with all pictures taken by myself in natural daylight using a Nikon dslr camera over a two day period. Baby is painted art so the skin tone may vary slightly depending on the light in which baby is displayed. I use a color calibrated, high resolution monitor. Monitor settings may differ so please allow for this. It is best to view the pictures from several different devices if you can. As with any handmade item slight imperfections can occur but do not detract from the beauty of the art work. Please make sure the baby is for you BEFORE buying. I do not offer a private layaway here however you may take advantage of PayPal's delayed payment program (pending approval). I do not alter my reborns once completed so please do not ask for any modifications. I use a digital scale to weigh the baby. The accuracy of other digital scales may vary slightly. Baby comes with the items in the layette section only. All other items in photos are props and not included in the sale. I do have a cat however she does not enter my studio space. I also work with mohair so please be aware if you have allergies. Baby's date of birth on certificate will be day of sale.
