In Korean culture, because many babies died soon after birth in centuries past, a special celebration is held when a child reaches 100 days of age. The honored child is often dressed in a beautiful national costume called a hanbok as part of the observation.
100 day celebrant baby Suu Kyi, sculpted by Adrie Stoete, was made with meticulous attention to details. Her precisely painted Asian features were accurately detailed using many thin layers of Genesis heat set paint. This 19 inch newborn weighs 4 lbs., 5 oz. Her full length arms and legs are attached to a doeskin cloth body weighted to make her cuddly in your arms. She wears newborn size baby clothes and diapers. Her head contains a powerful magnet to hold her authentic hair ornament; this needs to be kept away from pacemakers or sensitive electronics, but can be removed at the buyer's request. Her beautiful, genuine hanbok was resized and resewn. Her lustrous black hair is a synthetic wig by Monique. She comes with her handmade dress and shoes, a sleeper, a blanket, hair ornament, hairbrush and conditioner, care instructions and a certificate of reborning.
Reborn dolls are handmade artist dolls requiring gentle handling. They are NOT toys, and are not meant for children. Suu Kyi not a silicone doll. She cannot eat, drink, wet or defecate.
