Qiqi is a sweet 16” Asian preemie baby with NICU equipment. She weighs 4 pounds 13 ounces and is almost ready to come home. Qiqi is a reborn with delicately painted features, micro-rooted soft dark hair, and tipped nails. She has beautifully shaded skin and cute wrinkled feet and hands with careful blushing and creasing and delicately tipped nails . Qiqi’s belly plate is non-gendered so could easily be a boy with different clothing. She will arrive to her new mommy with: • Removable belly plate • Umbilical cord (magnetic) • EKG monitors (magnetic) • Oxygen mask with tank • NICU shirt which opens for equipment access • ID bracelet • IV fluid bag with tubing • Preemie formula bottle (sealed) • Magnetic pacifier • Hospital blanket • Preemie onesie • 2 preemie diapers
The IV fluid bag can be filled with any liquid (colored water recommended). Keep the clamp closed to prevent leakage and safely fill it away from the baby and her clothing to avoid accidental spillage. The feeding bottle may use faux formula of your choosing. The nipple is sealed, and you can push it inside itself to simulate actual feeding the baby.
This NICU baby is perfect for remembering a time when your premature baby was born, or it can be a useful educational tool to teach an older sibling about the care and attention required for such a special baby brother or sister. There are also benefits for children in reducing anxiety or fears involving the addition of a NICU baby to the family. The doll should not be used as a play toy for children, however. There are magnets in the construction which are deemed not safe for young children, and these dolls are too delicate to endure the rough treatment involved in most child play situations.
A clear plastic storage bin works perfectly as a hospital style bassinet, and you will need a hook to hang the IV bag.
