This is Doe she is the (modified) Jewel Sculpt by Bountiful Baby. Doe is an 18 inch full limbed vinyl baby with a soft cloth body that is generously weighted with micro glass beads.
Doe is a fantasy baby with a cute little turned up nose and elf like ears that I sculpted out of epoxy. I needed to switch gears for a little bit and have a little fun so I experimented with the epoxy and using both air dry and Heat Set Paint. I filmed myself making this baby and I will post it to my You Tube channel (Saint Cloud Nursery) so you can watch my process, it was a learning experience for sure. I almost gave up half way through but she was too cute, I am glad I powered through my doubt.
Her skin is fair with some mottling, she has periwinkle, amber and magenta undertones, she was painted using both sponge and brush in both acrylic and heat set paint. She has been Primed with MSC and has been sealed using heat set varnish. I gave her a spray of freckles meant to look like a little galaxy across her face, her limbs have a bit of "freckling" also. She has lovely green eyes fringed with baby brown and platinum mohair.
Doe has painted hair in lovely shades of platinum and light brown and her top rooting is done in the most beautiful platinum yearling mohair that has been minimally processed so it has natural shine.
I love the way she turned out but I want to disclose this is a modified art doll. She is not a reborn or realistic perfect, her price reflects that. She is one of a kind doll and that is awesome but she was also experimental. She was not created to be handled like a regular reborn doll. Her nose and ears are not vinyl and were treated differently than the rest of the vinyl. She will need to be tenderly cared for.
Her photography was done in a very well lit sunny room. The photography is honest but I think the light washed her out a bit, she is much more pink in person, her color is deeper and she has a matte finish.
She is not magnetized or scented. She will come with her hand made bubble romper and the fairy headband I made for her. She wears a newborn diaper and I will include a traditional sleeping gown for her.
This baby was created for someone who enjoys fantasy dolls. She in NOT INTENDED FOR CHILDREN, and should be considered a collectors doll.
