Katie is a rescued treasure…a rare, retired, hard to find sculpt by Linda Webb for Ashton Drake’s So Truly Real series which was distributed by Paradise Galleries’ Just As God Made Them collection.
She is 19 inches long with VERY curled legs and weighs 3 pounds 11 ounces. She wears newborn size clothing and diapers. Due to the extreme rarity of this baby, she was not dismantled during refurbishing and so has not been weighted and does not have any magnets inside her.
This doll was originally created in 2004, so restoring her has been done carefully and gently with a few minor imperfections in the vinyl that may be somewhat perceptible but unavoidable. There had been a few stains that were either covered or disguised (the birthmark on her head) and she had one or two tears in the vinyl which have been repaired but should be treated with extra due diligence. In spite of some minor flaws she is not priced as a boo boo baby because of her exceptional rarity and the awesome beauty of this baby.
Katy’s hair is a combination of rooted exquisite blond mohair and sparsely painted shorter hairs. Her eyebrows are done in the same way for a realistically reborn little blond baby. Her eyelashes are applied deeply into the grooves of her eyes because rooting is difficult without removing the head.
She will come home with a putty pacifier and a sealed bottle with faux formula. Also, in her box opening will be two outfits, (shown in pictures) extra diapers, a soft receiving blanket, and a pacifier clip. She wears newborn size diapers and clothing, however some newborn full length sleepers are too snug and she would be better in a 0-3 months size. It may depend upon the brand. Do not try to fit her into clothing too small as that is rough on the limbs.
